Apocalypse Now? | Climate Alarmism: Don't Believe Fear Merchants
Today I want to talk about the culture of fear and hopelessness being sold to an entire generation, known by some as "climate change", and fortunately by others as "climate alarmism".
Despite what the mainstream media fear merchants are selling, the world is not ending in 12 years. Just as it did not end from a "Malthusian catastrophe", or Elrlich "Population Bomb", not from Y2K, and not even when the Mayan calendar ended. In fact there have been so many false apocalypses that you'd think we'd know better by now.
Yet, for whatever reason many people believe the world will end in their lifetime.

I don't know why so many ascribe to a belief that the world's end is just around the corner. Fortunately I am old enough to doubt the likelihood and resent the snake-oil salesmen who sell these tales of woe for their own profit.
In my view, climate change, or global warming, or global cooling, or whatever you want to call it is just the next in a long line of tales of woe, being sold. I want to fight this fear and give readers who believe this stuff new hope. Kids do not need to fear apocalypse, but they do. We need to help them see, chicken-little has told this tale already, was wrong before and is likely wrong again.
Is the world going to end? Sure, eventually. Might it be tomorrow? Maybe. Is that possibility very likely? No.
More important, is the science "decided"? Is it true that Co2 is definitely triggering an irreversible climate shift? Definitely and objectively, no.
But don't take my word for it.

If you're interested in this conversation, and perhaps you're not convinced, I urge you to seek facts for yourself.
All the data I have seen shows the existing warming trend began before significant man-made Co2 contributions. Whether you look at historic data of acreage burned, average global temperatures, or whatever else, it does not seem evident to me, and many others, that Co2 levels caused by mankind are in any way harmful to life on Earth. But again, look it up for yourself. Just be certain to include data from the decades and centuries before mankind began contributing measurably to global Co2 levels. Including that data exposes natural, enabling us to assess trends fairly.
Often climate alarmists exclude all data before 1960, wonder why? It doesn't suit their narrative.

Seriously, look into it for yourself.
Stop just accepting the MSM fear mongering, and remember they are selling you something. They are selling world-view. Apocalypse and end times are exciting, and it grabs eyes.
Doubt your doubts, and seek data before telling your kids the world is ending. If not for yourself, then for the hope in the hearts of those who come after us. Kids need hope, mankind needs hope.

Well said! There are so many holes in the climate change narrative that it is astounding that people are buying it. Kids maybe, but anyone in their 40s or older has seen this nonsense being peddled before.
The problem now is it has become almost a religion, so trying to inject any reason into the debate, or even have a debate at all is becoming increasingly difficult.
When I was growing up we were taught to question. To doubt your presumptioms and seek truth. If only we could get back there.

Hear, hear! We seem to have lost our ability to deductively reason. We have ceased to respond to logic and placed emotion over reason.
Climate change is pushed so as to instill fear into people so they can control and tax us more and more.
