Operation keep Ibadan clean.

Thursday 30th August, 2018.

I'm so tired so please pardon my editing skills. Walked for close to three hours today cleaning Ibadan city up. If you know Ibadan, you know it's dirty, like, dirty.
As one of our 17 Sustainable Development Goals is clean cities, the SDGs corp members of Ibadan Zone decided to keep the city clean. We did this with the support of Oyo State Waste Management Authority (OYOWMA). It was a long day.

We converged at 7:30am at the office, got the brooms, packers, nose guard, gloves and set to move.

We packed dirt and swept from Iyaganku to Challenge. At 1pm, we called it a day as most members were famished and the truck was already full. It was a good exercise for me though as it involved teamwork, community building and cleaner earth. I'm waiting for the next outreach. Long live SDGs! Long live SDGs - Ibadan zone!

Feels like the city is still disposing their sallah meat as the smell from the waste sites was intolerable. I'm grateful for a cool weather though, don't know how we'd have survived the long walk in a sunny weather. I must say, it was fun.

All dirts were thrown into the OYOWMA truck which will go dispose it at the state disposal site.

Observation

What I observed was there was a separation technique; plastics, perishable, metals, etc were separated in the truck, this is in a bid for recycling products that are recyclable.

You can start small, even from your compound, let's make our planet clean!
