When we were younger!

When our orchestra was younger, we had two memorable seasons with the Utrechse Spelers in a production of Moliere's "The Hypochondriac". We were the pit orchestra for some really awesome Dutch actors and we had completely sold out month long seasons in Utrecht, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

As you can see, the whole orchestra was on display. We were in the pit for the 1st half, but for the 2nd half we were on stage as part of the scenery. They even tried to get us to act, but that idea was quickly disposed of (we sucked at acting). Fish and climbing trees. We play music well, but please don't get us to talk or act!

The orchestra was reviewed well by the audience. We even had a couple of modern musicians come up after one concert, saying that they were surprised that we played with such guts and variety of sound. They were more used to the wishy washy sort of Early Musician.

Here are couple of photos also of the actual play. As you can see it was a riotous romp! We had lots of fun doing it, but much less fun getting all that make up off at the end of every night.
