Ready to go!
Time before our first of two seperate programs at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig. The musical home of JS Bach, which I talked about in my first post here. Looking forward to playing Bach at the location of Bach's musical home!
Well, I'm killing time whilst the rest of the programme is being topped and trained. About 15 minutes before we begin and the church is filling up fast!
It is stupidly hot and humid up in the loft. There is an advance notice of a severe thunderstorm coming in and I hope I make it back to the hotel before it hits. Concert clothes is not ideal clothing for a drenching!

I never learned to play any instrument... i dreamed of my son to play violin but my friends say it does not seem to suit his hyperactive personality. Lols. He is now starting to learn the guitar. He is 9... 😊
Violin is a very difficult instrument especially in the beginning so if he needs some fast successes guitar is maybe better. But at that age nothing is impossible, and going from one string instrument to another is easier than if he played the flute or piano, so maybe if he likes he could switch? In the end he will be the best to decide. Music is about joy and interest and finding your own way.
Ooooh, like @katharsisdrill said, the violin is a really tricky instrument to start with. Guitar or piano is always a good starting instrument, learning harmony is a critical skill that is missing in many people who learn single line instruments. Best of luck! It is something that takes a bit of dedication and practice to start to see results!

Thanks! It went well, the audience was pretty happy! Now to repeat it again tomorrow with a completely different programme!

Wow, sure looks like a good place to place to play music, with the acoustics in that hall. I'll imagine it went perfect :)
