Hmmm... I rarely listen to the symphonies, but I do seem to play them on and off, more so before I specialised. So, I would have to say that enjoy playing number 7 the best! I always love that, it is such a fun romp to play...
However, if I have to sit and listen... I'm most partial to 6.
I never saw the appeal of 5 or 9, which are the just popular ones...
I will admit that I am also rather fond of 6 and 7. I have been listening to both a lot recently. 6 really foreshadows what is to come in the later romantic era, and it is very enjoyable to listen to. What are your opinions on 3?
Actually, I"m afraid that Eroica doesn't really grab me... I know that many people like it, and it is one of the top ones. But it just doesn't move me at all!
