Today, I want to share information about an incredibly useful resource for musicians. This is inspired by @guifaquetti who beat me to a writeup about the other top resource imslp.

We have all been there. We have a complete score of a piece of music that we want to play. It has several parts, and you don't want to pay 200 euro for each part, or 50 euro per day for a part hire. What can you do? Well, in the pre-internet days, you photocopied the score, took out your scissors and glue and cut the parts out and stuck them onto a new sheet of paper. Needless to say, this sucked big time!

Introducing Partifi, you upload a pdf of the score and then by the magic of computers you do the cutting and pasting online with a mouse. Then it seperates out the parts and then you have printable pdf's of all the parts! Amazing, revolutionary...

There are a few things that are a bit wonky with the tool. The automatic part detection is a bit wonky, so it is a good idea to do it manually. And the other annoy thing is that bar numbers and tempo markings don't get transferred to all the parts, this is due to the fact that one the score they tend to only be on the top line.

Otherwise, this is an essential tool in any musician's arsenal. Bookmark the link!
