To think we needed to make even making music more complicated than it already is. Lots of scales to measure temperature, lots of ways mathematically to arrive at the number 432, and lots to measure how far from here to there. Yes, the old way of just doing music at the pitch that the organ was tuned at was ideal. However, the lack of standardisation led to problems for musicians that travelled!
