HOW TO CLAIM BITCOIN DIAMOND (BCD) AND SOME OTHER FORKS (BTW, SBTC, BTG or BCH)

in #claim7 years ago

No matter what one thinks of BTC forks, they can be a source of some additional income.
Given the recent spike of BCD (on KuCoin and other exchanges) and some other BTC fork coins, it could be interesting to hold them on exchanges at times of volatility (small amounts only, if you want to be safe).

Here are the steps for claiming coins if you are a beginner in crypto world:

  1. TWO APPS (BTC wallets) need to be downloaded (I used mobile for setting up – android, but it can also be IOS)
    a) BITHER ( https://bither.net )
    b) BITPIE ( http://bitpie.com )
  2. Save SEEDS on both of them and save PIN numbers.
  3. Find private keys from your BTC that was in your wallet at the time of the fork (If you are not sure just check settings or options (or google your wallet on how to get private keys):
    a) e.g. in Exodus you have to press CTRL, Shift and D (use the menu at the top to find private keys) and a special file with keys will be formed on you disk (it will even show past amounts next to the keys)
    b) e.g. in Coinomi you have to press option (right hand upper corner) and then choose export keys
  4. If you want to be safe with your BTC, transfer all BTC to another wallet or change it to another currency if your wallet allows, before you make any other steps from now on.
  5. Open BITHER
    a) Press Settings/Advanced options/Import private key/Import private key text
    b) Type in the BTC private key and BITHER PIN
    c) Select “Compress private key address (Recommend)” by pressing Import button next to it
    d) Select “Get BCD” or “Get BTW” or “Get SBTC” or “Get BTG” or “Get BCH” – check all of them just in case (you will see the balance for every key that you put in)
  6. Open BITPIE and choose the coin that you have in the menu top left corner “BCD” or “BTW” or “SBTC” or “BTG” or “BCH”
  7. Press “Receive” button for the chosen coin and copy address (make sure it corresponds to the coin that you will be sending “BCD” to “BCD” etc.)
  8. Open the BITHER and press Settings/Advanced options/Get BCD (or other coin if you have it).
  9. Press on the amount that you received and put in BITPIE BCD address (or other address if you have other coins) and type in your BITHER PIN and press GET.
  10. Open your BITPIE wallet and choose the coin that you have in the menu top left corner “BCD” or “BTW” or “SBTC” or “BTG” or “BCH”. The currency is ready to be sent to your other wallets (Ledger nano, Trezor if they support it or exchanges such as Binance or Kucoin – I have tested both and they are reliable and they both support BCD, but may have some time restrictions for deposits due to “Pump and Dump” moves.

Here is the review of Kucoin:

I hope this helps. I have successfully claimed all my forked coins.
