A City A Story Photo Weekly Contest #33 Bishan Park 碧山公园

Singapore Town Planning is very good where each township/estate is designed to have greenery park; The place where I stay -Ang Mo Kio , adjacent to the Bishan, too is having a huge park in between Bishan And Ang Mo Kio, named Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.

新加坡的城市规划很好，每个市镇都规划着相当面积的公园，而我居住的宏茂桥毗邻碧山，在这两座市镇之间，隔着一个很大型的公园，名为碧山-宏茂桥公园Bishan Ang Mo Kio Park。

之前因为共享单车在新加坡交战的非常激烈，所以有免费骑车的期间，离我最近的碧山公园就是最佳骑车的地方了。

Previously when the bike-sharing companies were having fierce competition for riders-gave a lot free rides to riders, thus the park that is neareast to me is the best place for cycling.

这座公园除了一般的运动器材，荷花池塘，参天大树，儿童乐园以外，

Aside from a park normal facility like sport equipments, lotus pond, huge tress and chidren playground,

有一个特别的圈地是给养狗的朋友带着他们的狗儿来这里自由跑动，认识认识其他的狗狗，说不定还可以谱上狗男女情缘（不，是狗男主人与女主人的邂逅）。

There is this dog run space for doggies to run freely, without the owners to worry run elsewhere . Here the dogs can have a weekly gathering with their other doggies friends :)

不过这碧山公园最大的卖点是这一条人造河，看起来还蛮像河流的是吗？河里边有鱼，河边也有活动在河边的鸟，之前还有一家海獭呢！新闻报道这家海獭为Bishan 5呢！因为一共是五只海獭，以河中的鱼为生，不过后来不知他们去了那里，@auleo之前是在靠经圣淘沙岛那里看到海獭群，只是不知是不是属于同一群海獭。

But the main attraction in this park is the man-made river, isn't it look like real river? where there is fishes in the river, and birds by the river. And it used to have a family of otters as well. They named it Bishan 5, because the otter family consists of 5 members. But after a while, not sure where they went but @auleo found another otter family near Sentosa Island- not sure if it the same otter family I saw in Bishan Park?

以下这张是我2009年拍的碧山公园照片，途中的大水沟就是今天的人造河了!新加坡政府花了大笔资金改造了这里的生态，将平淡无奇的大水沟，整合为人造河，而且这人造河有着过滤水质的功能，将纳入水沟的水，过滤了释出到公园的人造河。不止小孩可以赤脚下水玩，也为水中的生物缔造了理想的环境。

The photo below I took in Bishan park year 2009, as you can see , it was only a ordinary big drain, but turned to become a man-made river! As the man-made river not only does filter out the substances in the drain water (they call it bioswale) , but nurturing and cultivating the habitat here suitable for the fishes

对比2018年：Compared to how it looks in Year 2018:

碧山公园的人造河堪称新加坡园艺界的创举，如果你有常看新加坡植物展、环保展，一般都会提到碧山公园这成功的案例。
You can see they always take Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park as good example in various exhibitions eg Garden Festival , as it indeed a proud showcase of Singapore Landscape Design.
