Ghosbusters (1984): decent entertainmentsteemCreated with Sketch.

It had been decades since I watched that movie. It was the perfect entertainment to pass time during a long flight, even though some of it aged poorly.

2 paranormal investigators and a psychology PhD found ghosts! But sadly, their university funds get cut without notice. So they start, against all odds, a "ghost busting" business. But of course, Big Gov lurks around to mess everything...

Most of y'all might not remember it this way, but "Out of Frame" presented it perfectly: entrepreneurs see the need for something and start offering their services. But the EPA comes around and decides it's not the right way, therefore releasing the ghosts that were captured.

Now about the movie, it's definitely dated. While many ghosts (and the Marshmallow Man monster) look good, the "hell dogs" are awfully dated. And when Bill Murray tries to seduce Sigourney Weaver (before she becomes possessed) is cringy. Rick Moranis isn't much better on that, although his nerdy (and very indiscreet) accountant personae is laughable. And everyone smokes.

Nevertheless, if you grew up during the 80s/early 90s (it was aired repeatedly on TV), it's worth revisiting. See how people reacted to supernatural phenomena before smartphones and social networks and how entrepreneurs ALWAYS do things better than Big Gov
