Movies centered around gay people are usually low-budget and cheesy. Bros got a wider release and it was a daring move. While I enjoyed it (I'm the target audience), I can see why it turned off many people.

Bobby is a successful podcast host and is on the board for a brand new LGBT history museum. One night, he goes to a club and a typical shirtless gym rat meets his eye...

That's pretty much what the story; it's a rom-com after all. Since the gay world is overly sexual, you see plenty of that (and insinuations) throughout which might cause discomfort. According to my husband, the portrayal of New York City here is quite accurate (except the whiteness). It's all looks and nothing else - headless torsos, to quote a character.

However, the woke undertones were intolerable even for me. The main plot is an LGBT group wanting to open the museum stated above. They all try to promote their ideas, trying to be woker than the other. I was sighing whenever those people showed up.

Nevertheless, the movie is enjoyable if you're gay. You will surely identify with the dating minefield that we all face, and wish you found someone who would look beyond appearances. We're all hurt, somehow.

Final rating (gay): 4/5
Final rating (others): 3/5 (some eye candy for the ladies)
