SPLIT + UNBREAKABLE = GLASS
M.Night Shyamalan, the director of "Sixth Sense", "Lady in the Water" and "Signs" has announced that his next movie will be a merge between SPLIT and UNBREAKABLE. And I can't wait for it!
To be frank, I was not particularly excited by SPLIT. I think it started pretty nicely but did not really had an ending! And how true I was considering this news! That means that Shyamalan was thinking all along about a way to merge the universe of this movie with the universe of Unbreakable, one of his best movie, the last movie (some say) before the big dip suffered by his career.
And the funny little wink we get at the end of SPLIT gets a lot more sense now. For those who have seen the movie, and know what I am talking about, I thought (like everybody else) that it was just a nice little way of Shyamalan to hark back to his movie... But no! It is much deeper than that.
I'm already looking forward to see how Samuel Jackson, Bruce Willis and James McAvoy will battle in the movie, called GLASS. I assume that there will be a kind of alliance between the characters of Willis and Jackson against James McAvoy! Because even if Willis and Jackson characters were antagonists, they were - all in all - good guys trying to make sense of their destinies. While James McAvoy character(s) is much darker and much more evil.
