Backstage of fire scene / Part 1
Hello steemit!
It was soooo hot week!!!
Because we were filming fire scene for our FEATURE Film!
It was CRAZY!
We were filming at place where normally firemen were training to rescue people . And environment was already ready for great shots!
Everything were looking like a real house or apartment what was burned ! AWESOME!!! We don't need to even imitate it with decoration!
It looked already perfect!
And when we asked professional fire people, what we can burn for our shots- the answer was - EVERYTHING!!!!!! It's like dream ANSWER! WE could burn EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
We got so happy!
But we didn't know what it will mean for us and equipment!
So, we told fireman that they can burn for us a lot of parts of interior and we are ready to make amazing shots!
They did everything very quick!
But when i was trying to entrance the house, they stopped me and said- that i need to protect my skin, otherwise my skin will burn as well!
So, in the beginning they gave me easy equipment. Mask with oxygen( otherwise i will get toxic shock) - WAS SUPER HEAVY - around 11 kilos! and some clothes from fireman.
But when i entrance the house it was impossible to go deeper! SOOOOO HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable! I could not even hold camera. Rubber rig holders started to melt!!!!!! Was impossible to film in this temperature, especially our actors have to be completely without any protection !
So, what we did... First, we stopped almost all fire and also i got better protection from fire
It was way better ! We also covered camera in the end with jacket of fireman )
But this cloth was so warm, i became completely wet. Because this day was unbelievable hot temperature! + 31 ! Plus filming in the fire, plus this super warm clothes!
So, finally, i think i lost few kilos)))
In the end shots from camera were not that great as i wish, but at list , everybody survived and camera didn't melt! ) And we also added some extra smoke from powerfull smoke machine! In the end i think it looks fine)
