A Brief Cigar Review, On The Beach - Fuente Spanish Lonsdale

It is a beautiful day in Lincoln City at the Oregon Coast, I figured I might as well type up a quick review while enjoying my cigar.

The Arturo Fuente in the Spanish Lonsdale vitola is just one of many sizes available with the baseline Fuente cigars. These cigars feature a Cameroon wrapper, which I believe is the best Cameroon in the cigar business. I always find a tasty, naturally sweet, and high quality tobacco leaf wrapping the baseline Fuente sticks.

Flavor and Smoke

It would be difficult to not love any cigar during lovely surroundings like this, even so the Fuente Spanish Lonsdale is treating me nicely. I find a mellow to medium flavor profile consisting of cashew, caramel, and mild espresso-cocoa notes, as well as a small amount of pepper spice on the finish and retro-hale.

The lovely wife and I, we recently had an anniversary, which is one of the reasons we are here. The other being Chinook Winds Casino keeps sending us free night stays at their beachfront hotel. I don't really even gamble, but we have gotten one for the past 3 months. Works for me! 😁

Being at the beach, of course I had to draw Steemit in the sand…

Around the middle point of the Fuente, the flavor profile has a few gradual changes. The cocoa all but disappears, the pepper becomes more of a cinnamon, and a slight anise is added to the mix.

There is no more complexity to be found for the remaining of my Fuente Spanish Lonsdale, but there is nothing wrong with that. The profile has remained consistent besides a few minor changes. The construction and burn line have been great, especially considering the smoking conditions outdoors on the beach (wind, moisture, etc.)

Final Thoughts

A solid medium bodied cigar, the baseline Fuente a very consistent smoke, same profile from cigar to cigar, and the various vitolas only offer slight variances. This is one reason it is one of my goto sticks, another being they are quite tasty, and affordable.
