The Decentralized Church

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they (the apostles and disciples of Jesus) were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4 (emphasis supplied).

This event, which occurred in the late spring of 31 AD is the first time in the history of humanity when God had a body of believers that were in one accord. To be in one accord is to be in agreement, and therefore able to cooperate with your peers in the accomplishment of a task. The task that believers have been appointed to since the beginning of creation is to vindicate the law of God, which is the transcript of his character, and the foundation of his government: the kingdom of heaven. This reason for this is to expose the fallacy of the accusation of him who has suggested a better model that should replace the kingdom of God. When the objective is achieved, sin and death will be vanquished from the universe, along with the adversary, and his sympathizers, and the planet will be restored to its original condition before sin, and the flood.

When Jesus was among them in person, there was an effort to make him a central authority figure. Jesus knew that this was not his mission, and refused the position. This is why Judas betrayed him, and set him up for execution. Before his betrayal, Jesus told the apostles, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” John 16:7,13.

This coming of the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of truth, allowed for the believers to all have the same relationship with God that Jesus had. And as a result, the Church did not need to have a central authority figure. If this would have remained the case, this world would be a much different place than it is now. But the fact is, a change did occur.

The apostle Paul said, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Tim. 1:7. This love for souls was something that Paul commended the Church at Ephesus for having around the middle of the first century. “Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.” Eph. 1:15-16. But by the end of the century, this same Church was rebuked for having lost that love.

Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” Rev. 2:1-7.

Although there is much to be said about how things got this way, the good news is that this is no longer the case. God once again has a decentralized Church, and the presence of decentralized blockchain technology is not the cause of it, but is rather an effect of its presence.

I am always checking your account for new post but i guess you are busy. Hope that you can post often for the Lord Godbless you bro @timothyb

My present goal is to post once a day. Now that I'm only working 4 days a week, that may be done. Starting on another post now.

I find it interesting that if that same Spirit back then is the same one today and there are 30,000+ denominations...thennnn what Spirit is being listen to? I get that we all have opinions and different ideas but the Spirit of God would never lead His people to do something that goes against the Word of God.

That's a good question. Unfortunately, if you ask someone, they will instinctively tell you that they are listening to the Holy Spirit. This is why John admonishes: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1. When one has the Holy Spirit, they already know what they must do to try the spirits to see if they are of God.

thanks for sharing Sir @timothyb God Bless.

Amen to this brother @timothyb i like to read the book of acts specially when they were empowered at the day of pentecost they speak in toungues the some were wondering but at the end thousands were converted that Jesus was exalted... Praise he Lord.
