Today I am going to tell you UP(Uttar Pradesh)style recipe of Chura matar . It is also called Matar Poha. Chura matar is a very delicious, and healthy breakfast. Generally, Chura matar made in the winter season, because fresh green peas are only available during winter.
In winter season almost daily we eat Chura matar. Chura matar is my favorite breakfast. I sure, if you eat one-time Chura matar you also like it. In UP and Bihar Chura matar is very famous.

Chura Matar Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups thick poha
  • 1/2 cup fresh green peas
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds(jeera)
  • 1 to 2 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 to 2/3 cups water for cooking green peas
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder(kali mirch powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/3 cup chopped coriander leaves(dhania patta)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • HOW TO MAKE CHURA MATAR RECIPE

    Preparation for chura matar recipe
    1. Take 2 cups thick poha in a colander
    2. rinse with fresh water
    3. the poha just need to get softened. so rinse gently
    making chura matar
    1. heat 1 tablespoon oil in a kadai.
    2. after oil is heat then add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and saute them
    3. now add 1 to 2 chopped green chili and chopped ginger saute them till it become golden brown
    4. add chopped onion, onion is optional if you want to add then only add. saute them all till golden brown
    5. then add 1/2 cups of fresh green peas and mix it well with the remaining ingredients.
    6. next add 1/2 to 2/3 cups of water for cooking fresh green peas
    7. add salt as per taste and also add 1/4 teaspoon sugar and mix them well.
    8. now cover the kadai with its lid and cook on a medium flame till the peas are cooked
    9. when the peas are cooked and there is some moisture in the kadai, then add 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder, and 1/2 teaspoon garam masala.
    10. mix them very well. now add the poha.
    11. gently mix the poha with the rest of the mixture. cook for a minutes, you can also cover kadai and cook for a minute on a low flame.
    12. then add 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice and mix it with poha.
    13. swich of the flame and add chopped coriander leaves. mix them well.
    14. Now your tasty banarasi style chura matar is ready to serve.
