Hi Steemit,

With only 14 days before Christmas I thought it would be fun to do something to help us all get into the holiday spirit. Today I'd like to share some fun facts about the Santa's' around the world. I'm interested to know where you guys will be celebrating Christmas. Let me know on the comment section below.

I'll be celebrating in California.
In the United States Santa Claus carries with him a red sack filled with toys for boys and girls.
Is also well known that Santa gets immense help from his assistants also know as the elves. Santa also relies on his reindeers to get around on Christmas Eve to drop off gifts for children.

In France they have Pere Noel.
Pere Noel, french for father Christmas, leaves his presents in the shoes children leave for him by the fireplace. He also decorates the families Christmas tree with sweets, nuts, and other small toys and gifts.

Mexico has the three wise men. The three wise men from the biblical story of Christmas, visit good boys and girls on January 6th, leaving behind special gifts. On December 25th children break a special Christmas pinata filled with candy and treats.

Australia has Father Christmas. Since Australia is on the Southern Hemisphere Father Christmas is used to hot temperature. He wears a tank top and shorts and goes on his surf board to deliver presents. Cool!!!

Russia has Ded Moroz.
Ded Moroz is the Grandfather Christmas, he has a helper too name Babushka, a traditional Russian figure who reportedly declined going with the wise men to see Jesus. Filled with regret every year, she fills up a basket with goodies and visits the children of Russia.

Austria has Christkind, literally child of Christ, helps Austrian children celebrated Christmas by visiting their homes on December 24th. Christkind leaves behind a decorated tree and presents, tinkling a bell as she leaves to the family know her work is done.

Iceland has Yule Lads. Traditional men from Icelandic Folklore takes the role of Santa Claus in Iceland. Th 13th men each visit the 13th days before Christmas Eve. During their visits they leave behind a gift or a rotten potato in the shoes of every child, depending on the child's behavior throughout the year.

Japan has Hoteiosho.
Hoteiosho is actually a Buddhist monk who acts like Santa Claus. He carries a large sack and brings presents to every house. Some Japanese children think he has eyes in the back of his head. As December approaches all children put on their best behavior.

China has Dun Che Lao Ren.
Dun Che Lao Ren is the Christmas old man that brings gifts to fill up muslin stockings. The children are the main focus of Christmas in China. Families enjoy large fireworks displays as well as games.

I'm sure I didn't cover all the Santas, but we can all agree that the number one commonality is that Christmas is about the children receiving gifts. With that said, let us not forget about the child inside of each one of us!

Is not Christmas without a Christmas tree. Here's a short video of my Christmas tree being decorated by yours truly. Hope you all enjoy it.
