Hooray. This is CHRISTMAS .... But, does it signify the birth of Jesus Christ or not? Check this out.
Let me start by wishing all dear steemitizens a Merry Xmas Eve ..over here is really cold due to the weather and this is caused by the wind from the north east of sahara desert..i know many will be shopping, going on a picnic, sitting out with family and friends ,sipping whisky, coffee, wine or juices .ye its really cool out here.
Though i'm a lazy ass boy who is still in bed till now(yawns) ; this fact just came up and i feel i should share it with you guys.
I want to draw to your notice to the fact that Bible is silent concerning any special festivities to commemorate the date of which Jesus Christ born..check matthew 2;luke 2.
Jesus never celebrated his birth or taught of anything on CHRISTMAS not even His disciples .
History has it that DECEMBER 25 was declared to be the birthday of christ in 354A.D. when the bishop of Rome known as Liberius ordered that this day should be adopted .
Also, the recognition and observance of chrismas was banned by an Act of Parliament,1644 in England. There is only one day that has specific significance in the life of a christian which ia the first day of the week known as SUNDAY.
Anyways,
i am not against the celebration of today,so i hope that you all may have a splendid, joyous, gracious, progessive and enjoyable day and i pray that all your wishes come through....
I love y'all ..
