While Christmas ended in every country, Armenia is celebrating it today!
As we know, Christmas is a holiday which is celebrated on the 25th of December. But it is not the same in Armenia. We celebrate it on the 6th of January!
Why?
The exact date of Jesus' birth has not been established in any text. the date has been estimated by analyzing the historical events mentioned in the gospels of Luke and Matthew.
The January 6 date is based on the Julian calendar for religious celebrations..
Some people did not accept to change and preferred to use the Julian calendar instead of the Gregorian one.
The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Christmas and Epiphany on January 6.
Some other Countries, such as Russia celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January.
