RE: Christmassy Fruity Bliss Balls
Great idea to give them Xmas flavours! I might give them a go, using just what dried fruit I've already got in the house, and maybe ground nuts instead of the oats to make them grain free. My to do list for today was already long enough, but think I have to add these!
Just realized I need to edit the post, as I forgot to put when to add the fruit mix.
They are great xmas flavors, could you use L.A.S or L.S.A (can't remember the way the letters go) instead of rolled oats - I was actually thinking this morning to try some with that.
My list is the same, it's ever growing coming on here.
Yes, LSA should work. But since I've got almonds and coconut, I'll try those first. So far I've been busy all day and done nothing on my list!
Hope you ended up getting something done on your list.
Not so many on Sunday, but have been crossing them off since then, phew!
I made two versions of your BBs. I had different fruit and different spices, so just used what I had. I was a bit worried they might not hold together without the dates but I used quite a bit of fig and they did.
My version: I replaced the rolled oats with cashews that I blitzed first with the spices, cocoa and coconut. Stupidly I put in extra cocoa as I was using the raw cacao with isn't as strong and then overdid it and had to add extras! But it worked out fine in the end.
Then I made a version for someone who can't have nuts either. I replaced the rolled oats with mesquite powder and the cocoa with carob. It also worked fine, though the special flavour of the chocolate and spice was missing. But it goes to show that they are very versatile.
That is awesome they turned out great.
They seem to be very versatile, and can replace things quite easily which is good when you don't have things in the cupboard or for people that can't have certain foods.
These seem to be the easiest ones to change up a recipe in that i've come across.
They sound very yummy the ones you made.
They've been so popular that they're now on permanent request, not just at Xmas!
