Screw It All… (A Little Christmas Diddy!)
In honor of Christmas -- the most over commercialized and materialistic holiday of them all.., one filled with over-spending, over-eating.., too much stress, too much pressure, too much drinking and driving.., over-bearing families, crappy music and ugly sweaters.., I whipped-up a special holiday diddy for the Steemit community. Don't get me wrong, it's all in fun -- I like Christmas just as much as the next guy -- it can just be a little much!
In order to fully appreciate this heart-felt little diddy, you have to sing-it to the tune of the ever-beloved and much over-played Christmas song -- Silver Bells… Merry, Merry!!!
coping with all the stress
and the sense that
you're never doing enough
that you don't want to see
flying in from the boonies
and that ugly damn tree
its all just bullshit anyway
drink-a-lot, drink-a-lot
please make it all go away
buying crap for them all
in return they show up with
some cheap alcohol
and that stupid reindeer
when all that you want is
more football and beer
its all just bullshit anyway

that just always appear
pretending we're happy
and all that fake cheer
and that nasty fruitcake
the thought of it all
makes you quiver and shake
its something we should all fear

can't we just skip it this year!

I feel the same way you do about christmas same as you in that diddy, I dont like the big fake smiles, talks and pretending that you are interested in knowing what your old acquaintance has been through all year by asking questions while wearing grins, inquiring about old families and stuff like that, when you know you dont give two shits about all youre asking about but youre just trynna be "Christmas-polite"
