God Still Loves You

Her only child died of polio, her sister died from a heart attack, and her husband died in an accident. While living alone she suffered from a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. While there she had a slight problem with her vision because of corneal dryness, so she asked the nurse to give her artificial teardrops. Unfortunately, the nurse accidentally gave her carbolic acid, which blinded her. On top of that she contacted leprosy; her toes ulcerated and became necrotic, causing her feet to be deformed. In 55years of her life, she had 57 surgeries. When she was asked how she could still smile, she answered, "God still loves me, I am still alive. I am looking forward to the day when Jesus comes. Then I will receive a perfect body and will meet again my loving husband, sister and son." We are encouraged to rejoice in suffering not because we like pain but because we know that God is using life's difficulties to build our character and develop patience, which in turn I'll strengthen our character, deepen our trust in God and give us greater confidence about the future. Christ is with us in our suffering. We should not shrink from our faith in times of persecution but to show by our endurance that our faith is real.
