A Purpose For Everything

A doctor lost his health and was advised that he must take at least a year's leave from his practice. Even then, he was told he might not be able to stand the rigours of practicing medicine ever again. He was bitter and heartbroken. He had worked hard to establish his reputation, now this why? he asked God. In his idleness, he began to write a novel. To his surprise he enjoyed it and he surged forward with new found enthusiasm. When he finished the book he sent the manuscript to a publisher who accepted it. The book was well received, and a new career was born. Today, he is an author of several books, his talent for writing would never have been discovered had it not been for his physical setback.

When crisis hits, you may feel as if God has abandoned you. You may lose hope or become cynical about life, expecting bad to happen.
