Problems of Christianity (0006), Paul and Toledot Yeshu

in #christianity5 years ago (edited)

The end of Toledot Yeshu states that Paul was an infiltrate in Christianity to turn Christians into a meek society against the persecution by Romans. According to Toledot Yeshu, Paul caused these changes in Christian society to make them different from Jews, because Jews saw the similarity of Hebrew Christians and Jews as an internal strife:

"Paul, having gained the secret of the Ineffable Name, healed a leper and a lame man by means of it and thus found acceptance as a true disciple. He told them that Yeshu was in heaven, at the right hand of his Father, in fulfillment of Psalm 110:1. He added that Yeshu desired that they separate themselves from the Jews and no longer follow their practices, as Isaiah had said, "Your new moons and your feasts my soul abhorreth." They were now to observe the first day of the week instead of the seventh, the Resurrection instead of the Passover, the Ascension into Heaven instead of the Feast of Weeks, the finding of the Cross instead of the New Year, the Feast of the Circumcision instead of the Day of Atonement, the New Year instead of Chanukah; they were to be indifferent with regard to circumcision and the dietary laws. Also they were to follow the teaching of turning the right if smitten on the left and the meek acceptance of suffering. All these new ordinances which Paul taught them were really meant to separate these Nazarenes from the people of Israel and to bring the internal strife to an end."

He did these changes to exclude Christians from the Jewish society by abolishing Jewish Law on false claims for Christians like crucifixion supposedly being the redemption.

If you read Paul's epistle Romans 13:1-7, you see Paul indeed asked of believers to obey the government. Even when this government persecutes them on false grounds? Yes, he means in every way for them to obey and act meek against authorities. When the times like of Diocletian come, Christians were instructed to still obey the authorities.

Roman authorities completely destroyed True Christians and True Christianity which holded Jesus as a pious prophet and not some part of some pagan trinity.

Sort:

That's all nonsense. Just like everything you write. You can read Paul's testimony in Acts. He was confronted by Jesus on the road to Damascus. Elsewhere in his letters he talks about all that he suffered for Jesus.

If you want to observe nonsense, observe Scutum Fidei. Pure illogical nonsense.
