They can trigger recessions by raising interest rates. They reportedly made a huge fortune by selling all their stock before the 1929 crash and buying even more stock in the depths of the Great Depression.
Their vast financial resources have helped them to either own or control the mainstream media, the educational system, the leadership of both political parties, and most if not all publicly traded companies.
