Don't compare
“I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.” Psalms 139:14
This Bible verse nailed it. When my daughter was bullied and being laughed at school, I always quote her this special verse. I always tell her that she is special, both of them are special. I make comparisons between them (Chauncey & Carleign Seth) to encourage both of them & not to make one of them appear less special than the other.
Because, both are gifts from God. We, as parents, couldn't help but compare sometimes, but I keep reminding myself this verse. We should always find our identity in Christ. We are His beloved children. Whenever we are tempted to look down on ourselves, let us be reminded of this verse. Whenever other people look down on us, let's remind ourselves that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. There's no reason not to thank God for this wonderful confirmation of who we are in His Son. Let's claim it. We are all special. God is not a man that He should lie. So whenever you feel you are at your worst, remind yourself of this verse. :-)
