According to tradition, this is how an Eskimo hunter kills a wolf.
First, the Eskimo coats his knife blade with animal blood and allows it to freeze. He then adds layer after layer of blood until the blade is completely concealed by the frozen blood.
Next, the hunter fixes his knife in the ground with the blade up. When a wolf follows his sensitive nose to the source of the scent and discovers the bait, he licks it, tasting the fresh blood. He begins to lick faster, more and more vigorously, lapping the blade until the edge is bare. Feverishly now, harder and harder, the wolf licks the blade in the cold Arctic night. His craving for blood becomes so great that the wolf does not notice the razor-sharp sting of the naked blade on his own tongue. Nor does he recognize the instant when his insatiable thirst is being satisfied by his own warm blood. His carnivorous appetite continues to crave more until the morning light, the wolf is found dead on the snow!

Brothers and sister, we can see ourselves like this wolf. And this is how sins work in our lives. It seems delicious at first but it does not satisfy. More and more is desire, leading us to crisis or death. Sins are sugarcoated lies made by the Father of Lies just to makes us play apart to his infinite rebellion against the father GOD. Drugs, alcohols, sex, power, and money makes us feel good and we want more of it.
1 John 2:16
For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-comes not from the Father but from the world.
Let us not be deceived by these my friends and let us fight against sin. Let us be aware of our true enemy and prepare ourselves to counter it.
1 Peter 5:8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
What things may we always be sure of when we are tempted?
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except was is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
As human as we are, temptations and sins are always targeting us. But this is not a reason that we will easily submit to these things. But what weapon do we have with to meet the enemy?
Ephesians 6:17
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
The Word of God is a powerful weapon in our battle against sin and temptation. These are the things used by our Lord Jesus when he was tempted by Satan. He endures it, overcomes it and became victorious against it.

What can we do to help ward off temptations?
Matthew 26:41
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”
James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Let us overcome it together my friends. Although no man is sinless but we can sin less!
