The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
Deuteronomy 28:12

Our potential is convertible to wealth and other tangible assets. This is appropriate expectation and outcome. While the Judge of the whole earth would recompense the works of our hands in the day of reckoning, there is the recompense here on earth to be derived by our talents and potentialities.

WEALTH CREATION, HOWEVER, IS A SPECIALIZED TASK REQUIRING PLANNING AND DILIGENCE AND GRACE!

Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teachs you to profit, which leads you by the way that you should go.
Isaiah 48:17

But because the Kingdom requires wealth and substance for its growth and expansion, it becomes imperative for the household of faith to learn the skill to create wealth.

CUNNING CRAFT OR CREATIVE CRAFT?

The first assumption a prospective entrepreneur or investor would settle before tackling any venture is inevitable profitability. Every other notion or plan would be cast on this premise. The cheery news for the would-be Christian innovator, backed up by divine guarantee, is seedtime must be succeeded by harvest, groundwork by gain.

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest…..shall not cease.
Genesis 8:22

Countless numbers of businesspersons, innovators and entrepreneurs have, however, find, to their consternation, it is not a sure-fire bet that potential and acumen translates to creation of wealth. It is not given at all.

“Sirs, ye know that by this our craft we have our wealth.”
Acts 19:25

One Demetrius, a silver smith who manufactured shrines for the Greek goddess Artemis, made the above statement. Demetrius made this utterance in the thick of organizing resistance to the ministry of Paul, by inciting the craftsmen making handcrafted gods and figurines that felt their livelihoods threatened by the proselytizing of the Apostle.

Making silver gods was at the time a lucrative business in the heathen country. Bible scholars and historians have researched that since the temple of Artemis was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, worshipers and tourists flocked in from far and wide.

These throng of visitors, who bought the figurines pretty much like you would buy a bible for personal devotion, presented economic opportunity for silver smiths like Demetrius. Consequently, the sales of silver shrines and images produced a business boom around the temple of Artemis. (See Acts 19) Now Demetrius, the silver smith had a lucrative craft, through which he had his wealth, but the craft did not exalt God, it exalted idolatry with its fetish practices. If unbelievers can build wealth from an idolatrous craft, how much more the heirs of the Kingdom!

In all labor there is profit…. Proverbs 14:23

Have you experimented to locate your kernel yet? Have you explored virgin grounds for recondite gems that can accessories your crown on the day of reckoning?

Child of God, I need to impress upon the fact that the Lord imbued your person with creative potential, talents and acumen to create wealth! You are built to generate wealth! Because the flourish of the potential, flair and acumen of a man is his divine entitlement, it behoves the possessor to grasp how to sow in a manner that yields the wealthiest harvest. Therefore, there is a particular way to go to create wealth that begs detection.

History records that when the wealth of the world was to increase many folds, by exponential growth, industrialization as well as technological advancement were to play leading roles. Men with inventive talent, technical skills and the potential for technological revolution exercised their acumen and brought themselves repute and fame as they helped the world wealth expand as arrowheads.

In every sphere, creative men continued to blaze the trail. Diverse talents, varied gifts, and a plethora of creative potential, all leading to manifestations as well as explosions. Spiritually as well, the stage had been set for material prosperity, the kind humankind had not before experienced.

Notably, the seventeenth century, which was the epoch in which the foundations of industrialization were laid, has been described as the age of Galileo and Newton, and Hooke and Huygens. These men and other like minds were notable contributors as technological innovators as well as scientists. Several new-fangled inventions are attributable to their brilliance and skills. For instance, Galileo, a pioneer of mathematics and astronomy, made telescopes and other instruments.

Huygens, a mathematician and physicist, invented the pendulum clock, and proposed a kind of internal-combustion engine (using gunpowder for fuel). Even Newton, who was reportedly disdainful of technology, worked on improving the marine sextant and invented the reflecting telescope. These inventions have helped reshape the world for good and lay the foundation for the exponential growth of global wealth.

And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV)

‘Sirs, ye know that by this our craft we have our wealth’. Demetrius the silver smith was sure of his wealth-creating craft.
