The imperative of Joy- Mark 6:48-51, John 16:33
As a continuation of what we earlier shared.
The Lord wants us to be Happy (of good cheer) because He has overcome the (troubles we face in the) world...It's a fixed fight and we have already won.
Nevertheless, we still have to show up at the ring for victory to be declared. We have to fight for our Joy in Christ, that we remain completely satisfied in the Lord... The Joy of the Lord is our strength.
We have shared the following 5 out 12 imperatives over the last 2 weeks.
Meditate on God's word day and night. If should do this daily to see his glory and desire His joy.
Focus on Jesus Christ as the center of God’s Word, God does everything for Himself that we may see His glory.
Don't avoid the scriptures that teach of God's wrath in your personal bible study time. It will help you understand what Jesus has taking on for us to avoid us from going through the same.
Learn to preach to yourself. Speak to your soul to encourage your emotions and your mindset.
Pray fervently, earnestly and sustainably for things that give you Joy. Use the acronym I.O.U.S
I- incline my heart to your Word. Let our heart lean to do the things pleasing to God- Ps 119:36
O- open our eyes oh Lord that we may see God's glory. Ps 119:18
U- Unite our hearts towards God. Avoid worry and distractions, that ALL our heart will search for God. Ps 86:11
S- Satisfy yourself in the Lord Ps:90:14
Once we are fully satisfied in Christ nothing will entice us and we can overcome known sin.
