What Should Christian Expect By Way of Answer to A Prayer
What exactly do we expect while praying to God and after the prayer?
There is a message from a amiable and respectable minister of God who used one of the popular Bible verses which is taken from the book of James, chapter 5 which reads that the prayer of a good person or the righteous has great power in its effects. Elijah prayed earnestly that it might not rain in the land, and for complete three and half years, rain didn't fall at all.
To be candid, some will pray for snow days and nights and the prayer will be answered.
The preacher was without doubt about it. He was optimistic about the powerful that every prayer can have.
He emphasised on it that Christians have to be praying more and more often, that no Christian should be afraid of praying for immediate, material and physical rewards.
It should forever remain in Christians' hearts that God is the provider of every good thing that anyone may want to possess on earth.
Therefore, we should never be scared and be discouraged from asking God to do something for us. We can ask for anything in as much it is in line with the Will of God Almighty, no matter how small or large it might be.
Take this for instance, one of your children is about to write an entrance examination to a prestigious college, you have to pray that the child scores excellently on the test and believe for the Lord will grant the request as desire of your righteous heart.
If have been appointed to become CEO of your company or a place of work, pray, and the Lord will grant unto you the wisdom and knowledge needed for the success of the job .
If you run out money, remember that your Father in heaven is the richest, go and meet him in prayer, he will answer and provide for your needs.
If you want park your car, driving around the streets of the city looking for a place to park but you can't find a parking place, then pray, and the Lord will provide a place for you.
These are powerful promises indeed. Yet I personally, whenever I hear such claims for the power and effectiveness of prayer, I do also get to hear a echoed voice from somewhere in the back of my mind asking me to just calm for a minute, that something strange is going on.
About this, the more I get myself wondered the more I get troubled concerning the preacher's sermon.
The question is, should we now go on prayers asking God for immediate, material or physical rewards, excellent scores in exams, an increase in salary, a promotion in our places of work, a convenient parking place on our crowded city streets or financial freedom?
.
I used to think that God has a lot in mind and many things to attend to that are more significant than listening to my prayer where I'm asking for a place to park my vehicle.
I used to think that there are many people out there who are asking for something important like restoration of life on death bed, healing from incurable diseases or illnesses, reunion of broken marriage, and they have not got answer to the prayers, how would God answer my own asking for a place to park my vehicle?
But that thought is wrong. If God is less concern about our everyday life and can't answer our prayers because they are trivial, then we can say that He is not the Lord of Creation.
The Bible made us understand that, there is nothing that is less important, so we can tender our prayers request no matter how big or small it is. No prayer is small anyway.

When we pray we should expect our prayer to be answered as yes, no, or wait. Yes, God controls everything in the universe. God controls all the wealth on planet earth. That means that God is able to supply your needs. That doesn't mean that God will cause money to fall from heaven so that you can satisfy all the greedy and sinful that you have.
But if we expect answer to our prayer to be no, do we exercise faith there?

Its good to always pray at all times, but we often fail to exercise faith in God and the words we proclaimed coming to fruition. Faith, plays a key role for prayers to receive immediate response/ manifestation.
