Waking anyone, including family members, takes real effort. It's not just one conversation, it's tens and sometimes hundreds of conversations before people take up the interest and understanding for themselves. This includes the ability to stop treating the TV as the center of the household and start seeing it as the propaganda, brainwashing, corrupting (and now spying) intruder that it is. Until they get it, they can really hate anyone that disrupts their peaceful slumber. It's insane when you think about how backwards it all is.
