A mother's letter to her son who was tried without evidence, denied Due Process and imprisoned in America's Private-For-Profit Prison complex

October 9, 2017

My son,

These thoughts have been on my mind for the last couple weeks. If you have more than one child you find that they are each very different.

I told you about seeing Tim Tebo on field of Mile High Stadium. He was kneeling with his elbow resting on his knee and his forehead resting on his fist. He looked like he was in a pose similar to the statue, “The Thinker”. I was thinking, What is he doing?
Then I heard from friends who prayed for him when he was playing for FSU in Florida; he always prayed before the games in this manner. I had seen athletes pray in huddles, but this was different.

In schools I saw students chose to do things differently. Most stood, less put their hands over their hearts, and some did not say the pledge of allegiance at all. Some were Jehovah Wittnesses; they did not pledge alliance to a flag because they thought it was bowing down to an idol. Yet these students each found their way to be a good citizens in our country.

Later I saw students who did not pledge for they felt their country was failing to follow the high ideals that our founding fathers put forth in the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Right and U.S. Constitution. This is in area of our country where there are many children of men and women who served in our military. Some of their family members were fighting and dying for U.S.A.; these students stood and said proudly the pledge.

I pledge and pray for our country whether displeased with some or pleased with almost all our citizens. We are different in the way we try to be good citizens. Just as each child in family is different, so are the sons and daughters of America.

In the last year one football player knelt during the National Anthem. Then other football players joined him. They were protesting the bad relationships and decisions between police officers and citizens. By some the protest was needed by other they felt that these sons of America were disrespecting those who were veterans and those who were active duty.

What was the difference between these sons and daughters?

The military fights with physical weapons, but can you put aside you anger and see that these athletes are fighting for improving America. There are organizations like Blue Shield that works on creating better relationships between police and the communities they are actively serving.

The first football player who knelt during the national anthem has been working closely with the local police departments to improve in Denver, Colorado. This player is fighting to change his country for the better. The military and football players are using difference strategies, but both trying to serve their county.

My husband and I were up in Boulder, Colorado for medical care. I saw Tebo Family Cancer Center. Know Tim Tebo, a Bronco football player, not only prays, but his family and him actively care for their community. Yes many of the football players work not only to be the best players that they can be on the field, they also are very generous in helping their local communities. Their hearts are bigger than their brawny bodies.
Maybe we all need to step back and come to a better understanding that each son and daughter will choose their battles and weapons differently. As said in a speech by John F. Kennedy (March 13, 1962), “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.”

Let this peaceful protest make possible a good change in our country. Each American son and daughter are different and will chose different strategies. I am glad these gladiator are choosing a revolution of loving determination for improve the U.S. A!

Much love, prayers & blessings,

Your Momma Bear (Bear each other’s burdens)

BOTH ARE PRAYING & SERVING
