Just Weights and Measures
There is a theme throughout the Word of God that speaks of "Just weights, measures and recompense." This goes right into the blessings and promises contained in the word. I think that even the world recognizes this, and some call it "karma," because we do reap what we sow, beit good or bad.
Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
It's the dividing line between the living Word of God and the power of His word at work in us that divides even the flesh from the spirit, (Hebrews 4:13) putting the flesh under so that we in Christ can walk by the spirit and not be led by the flesh. It's that abiding in Him and in His will, and it's by His instruction that this takes place. It involves His whole word, His full counsel.
Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
It's His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom, if our hearts are set on Him and if we are seeking it out in Him as we search the scriptures seeking His will and His way above all else. It's His pleasure! He loves it when we seek Him in all things. What a mighty and wonderful God we serve!
Blessings come by the way of abiding in Him and in His will. (We don't want to be just hearers but doers of His word.)
When we are pleasing in His sight there are blessings. When we walk by the flesh and by our own fleshy desires there can't be blessings. It's about seeking to be pleasing to Him in all our ways. (His will is contained throughout the bible.)
There is a recompense that takes place in everything that we do, whether is be by the flesh, or by the spirit.
Here are some examples. His word is filled with these kinds of examples.
1 Samuel 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
Leviticus 19:35 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure.
Leviticus 19:36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
He weighs our actions, our obedience, our abiding in Him, our desire to know His way. He knows every detail of our hearts and our thoughts. Nothing at all is hidden from Him.
2 Samuel 22:21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
We as believers, are seeking His righteousness, His will and His way, only then can we abide in His will.
He gives us both sides of this picture, equipping us in the power of His might to be overcomers.
Proverbs 11:29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Romans 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Romans 11:35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
Romans 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
