The UN created the State of Israel and the Vatican became a nation/state early in the UN's history.
I find it ironic that so many Christians think this UN created nation has anything to do with the Biblical tribes of Israel found in the Bible. Would this body really be the ones to bring in the Third Temple to Jerusalem or do they use that as a sales pitch to gain more support for their crimes?
Well, the Vatican had power way before the creation of the UN. The Pope had almost unlimited power but had that taken away for a while. Believe though, he's not done.
I think the re-forming of Israel has more to do with God's providence in keeping His covenant with Abraham. The UN seems to have played the role of a pawn here. Historically, we know that God also used Persia to knock off Babylon to ensure this same covenant promise wasn't forgotten.
