Dewy Grace: Core Vision

in #christianity9 years ago (edited)

I have been silent on Steemit for awhile.

It was intentional; I wanted to have some direction for Steemit before posting. Without any direction, I felt that I would just be posting for posting's sake, in a very random and haphazard manner. There is no continuity between the posts, no unifying thread tying them all together.

For a while, I had an obscure vision of this silken thread, but I could not encapsulate it in words. I didn't force it though (since I work best by going with the flow). By God's grace, it came to me today.

Presenting to you: Dewy Grace.

Dewy Grace is for all Christian women who value elegant femininity.

But don't get me wrong, I am by no means excluding those who do not seem to nicely fit in my select audience. Men, non-Christians, those who are not quite convinced that the concept of femininity is still relevant for our day and age - all are welcome.

Just that it will be written by a woman to fellow women, with an overarching goal of inspiring them to cultivate elegant femininity and an underlying Christian worldview.

Why Dewy Grace?

Dew.

I was deeply inspired by one of J.R. Miller's articles: The Strength of Quietness and how he alluded to dew.

"Many people suppose that noise indicates strength; that the loud bombastic [wo]man is the strong one; that we are doing the most—when we make the most bluster and show. But this is not true. In all of life, it is the quiet forces that have the greatest effect. The dew falls silently at night when men sleep—and yet it touches every plant and leaf and flower with new life and beauty."

The elegant and feminine Christian woman may be overlooked and underappreciated, but her presence will silently and surely beautify this world. Just like the dew when it falls.

Grace.

Ah, this lovely word imbued with so much meaning.

Most importantly, it is God's grace - His unmerited favour - that rescues us from our total depravity and redeems us to live in the beauty of holiness. Without His grace, we would not have been born, and we would not have been born again.

But who can forget how grace (as used in the natural sense) is so inextricably linked with elegance, charm and ease?

'Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.' (Proverbs 31:10)

Much love,
Joey
