Anyone up for discussing the distinctions between the "authoring" and "finishing" of our faith?
I would love to hear your thoughts on it :-)
Christ in us, the hope of glory, has given himself to suffer the penalty of our sin, that is the authoring. After taking that penalty upon himself, he puts it on the head of the originator of sin, the adversary, and removes it from us. That is the finishing of our faith. After facing the adversary's wrath in bringing the world to try and make the righteous return to sin, the successful are blessed with immortality, and ascend with the resurrected. This is what my Bible tells me.

The reason I hesitate to put very much commentary on the word in my post is because I don't feel I have been called to do so. I am a firm believer that the Holy Spirit will give every follower of Christ understanding and wisdom on anything we seek to understand, if we will simply ask.
I don't believe everyone is called to share that knowledge though, perhaps you have been called :-) Thanks for providing your understanding of the word for others to ponder.
