New Garment: (Part 1)

Ruth was told by Naomi to wash and put on a new garment. Ruth's garment was to make her presentable in appearance. In the parable of the feast wherein a man sent for people to come in to his feast. The guests were expected to dress in a suitable attire for the party. As the party went on, some were shown the way out.

Today, I would like us to look beyond the outward appearance for the approval of mortal men as we kick start the new year. What sort of garments are we to put on for the year 2018 so as not to be a cast away before the Lord Almighty?

What garment do we need to make our appearance presentable and acceptable unto God?

1. Garment of Holiness

The foremost of all the garments that is required for us to appear presentable before God is the garment of holiness.
According to 1 Peter 1: 15-16

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy"

Holiness means to be set apart from the world unto God. Holiness begins in your thought(intents) life. What you think determines how you live. It is the total separation from all sin.

Proverbs 21:27

The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable - how much more so when brought with evil intent!

For you to appear pleasing to God this year, your thought life must be in check.

Proverbs 15:26

The Lord detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to him.

Brethren for you to enjoin with those that will enjoy the presence of the Lord this year, for you to partake of the new height that God has promised to take His choosen ones to, your state with God must not be compromised.
Those common sin(lies, envy, malice, covetousness, stealing, adultery, fornication, false witness,..) that you easily fall for shouldn't have any dwelling place in our heart. Those random evil thoughts that flashes our subconsciousness should never be entertained.

This is the right time to lay aside and let go of every evil thoughts, the right time to make a u-turn to your marker to cleanse and forgive you of past errors and misdeeds. Why not humble yourself and ask your marker to give you the grace to start right with Him.

Prayer Points

• O' Lord my maker, please give me a new garment of holiness.
• Renew my life, renew my garment O' Lord.
• Lord give me the grace to live a life pleasing and acceptable to you.
