Turning darkness into light; Isaiah 42:16 And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground...
Someone once said to me: "the day people don't believe the devil exists, darkness has won". To me that sounded really harsh. I just went to church for the first time since I was a child and didn't know much about this subject.
Nowadays, alot of people that live in the world say the devil is something that was made up by 'the church' to scare people, keep them 'small' and keep them tied to churches.
Since than I have learned alot about spiritual warfare and how 'real' the devil is. How he seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10 The thief enters only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came so that they could have life—indeed, so that they could live life to the fullest.)
When I was just baptized, it took me a long time to figure out how to deal with this 'darkness'. Everybody told me not to give him any attention but how could I when my head was still full of lies? How do you learn to recognize the voice of God versus the lying voice of the devil?
Asking God this question He revealed to me, through His Holy Spirit, that He is everything that is good. Everything that brings peace, strength, happiness and positivity. And understanding this truth, 'a strangers voice' started sounding so strange.
Even though darkness has been defeated (Revelation 20:1-3Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed) and doesnt live in us anymore, he is still trying to sell his lies to us on the outside trying to get in.
The most beautiful part of this story is that the more satan kept talking to me and tried to trick me into believing his lies, the more I learned to seek God and learned to know Jesus better and better. So in a way I thank my intense relationship with Jesus to the devil.
To me this proves the immense power and strength of Gods perfect plan, what a genius our Father is to make everything work together for the good. Our God turns darkness into light!
