The Rose vs. the Lotus - Who could win such a beauty contest and what does this proverb mean for us

When the rose and the lotus are side by side, is one more beautiful than the other?
What does this ancient proverb mean for us? What does the Bible say in this regard?

Do not compare yourself to others, unless it is to gain inspiration and wisdom. Do not compete with others under the delusion of lack. Do not strive after the outward appearances that the mass media says you need to live up to. Do not ever think that you are just a faceless person in the crowd. You are unique and special. People may try and argue about who is better in this way or that way, but the fact is that before God, we are all precious. There is no one else exactly like you in all the universe. You matter and you are needed here on this Earth, even if your purpose isn't yet clear to you.

1Samuel 16:7 "…for the Lord sees not as man sees for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."

Psalm 139:13-16 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. It doesn't matter what others say or think about you, the Lord knows you and loves you. He has good plans for you. You are so precious to Him that He sent His beloved Son Jesus down from Heaven to this Earth just for you, to rescue you and bring you back into His family. Trust the Lord and He will show you His good plans for your life and you will blossom and bloom and flourish!
