I NEED YOUR ADVISE ON THIS.. PLS......

in #christianity7 years ago (edited)

For quite a while now have been so bordered over an issue that I found online. Have thought about this, asked pastors and some few friends who I believed understand the scriptures, so far so good, all have not being able to convince me nor make me understand if what she did was a "SIN" or not.
So I decided to take it here and see all your thoughts and views concerning this story.... The story below

Christian sister got pregnant and the Church decided to discipline her since she was not married.

When the elders of the Church met and interviewed her, she told them that she has stayed and remained in the Church for several years and no one is marrying her and she is getting to and approaching the age of menopause where she can't get pregnant even if married.
So after reading some Christian medical journals on this issues, she decided and did artificial insemination since she too wants a child. She tendered both the medical journals and the medical documents that showed that she has done the artificial insemination from a reputable hospital.

The Sister is pregnant without committing fornication nor adultery with any man.

NOW, COULD THIS BE A SIN?

Kindly give your reasons for your answer and if possible back it with Scripture, so dat we can learn. You may wish to send to your Christian friends and see their position on the matter.
What's your position?

Life is never a sin, is a gift :)

This are words from S. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

Oh wow!
Interesting...

To me, I don't think she sinned.
Although, it depends on your own definition of sin.

But, she didn't commit any immoral act of sin

Base on your opinon right?

@julietisrael hmmm, but i think she should have atleast talk to an elder in church, for advise for doing it...

Wow, nice question. The Bible is clear about certain sin because it is sin of the flesh, but most sin comes via conscience. If she is infact born again, there is no issue...unless she prayed and felt the Lord lead her to not do it and she did it anyway.

Personally I am not a believer in the things that throw the world out of balance. Life prolonging drugs or abortion. Letting things happen naturally at both ends. I wish her well, and she need not worry about what any other person thinks about her. Nothing.....nothing is their business.

@freedompoint from your view, she doesnt deserved to be punished by the church elders....

Correct. On what ground would they stand. On to justify their "punishment". If someone goes to a church tbat people "punish" them....thar isn't right. Through the Bible men and women have had many roles, but to punish is not one. God judges. The most the elders can do is aproach her about what they think is the sin, and if she diesn't agree to stop they can ask her to not come back. If she doesn't view it as sin then they are removing her simply because the "church" doesn't agree with her opinion.
