FOLLOWING JESUS

This is a powerful series that we can't exhaust today, but we will see where we stop today, and we will continue next time. There are many outlines in this particular topic, but let's look at some for now.

The journey of Christianity can be summarized into three phases.

• The Calling
• The Making
• The Chosen

And all these three phases are functions of Followership

Jesus told us that a servant can never be greater than his master, but if the servant is diligent, he will be like his master. Christianity is all about Followership.

Gen 5:22: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

The word "walked" there can be replaced with "follow".

There's only one major thing God desires from a man and that's Followership. There's no one that can come to God without God calling him or her. That's why today, when you hear some people say God call me, They are right and at the same time wrong. Right in the sense that, Salvation is a general call.

If you are a Christian, know that you're called of God. Wrong if that person says because he's called, he needs to go and start a church because calling does not equal ministry.
Studying the scriptures, we discovered that everyone that had a long lasting relationship with GOD were people who followed Him till the end.

The case of Father Abraham, we saw God calling him to leave his household and follow Him. That's the call... Anyone God wants to do business with, He must first call that person. Follow me is the call but before God can release a man, that man must have had a track record of genuine Followership.

Even when God makes such a person a leader, he doesn't stop him from still following.

In this kingdom, leadership position is not a sign of attainment or arrival but a call into another level of Followership. When God calls a man, He is not calling him into ministry immediately, in fact He is not calling him to hold programs, conferences, meetings etc.

Following Jesus is not in the prayer programs we organize or the Bible study we do.

Before mandate can be given to any one, what interest God is not how many programs you've held or messages you've preached.

What God check is your level of Followership.
