When the master walked the earth, he knew what it means to be tired and thirsty. He put himself in the position of a man to qualify to save mankind. Matt 25:31-46 records that the master will separate people into sheep and goats depending on how they treated their fellow men. We are in a season where people have become more selfish, and Nigeria is now the global headquarters of poverty.

Lesson to learn from the tree in the text above.
A. The tree can be likened to a lamp without light, like Christians who are supposed to be the light of the world but are carrying lamp without light: Matt 15:14-16. Most christians don't know what they have to serve God through humans. When you don't do good work, you switch off your light and darkness takes over.

B. The tree can be likened to salt that has lost its taste. A tree without a fruit is like salt without taste. Salt adds taste, and preserves food items. Many Christian families have lost their taste. Also many churches are without impact. And it is easier to be called a Christian than to be one.

C. The tree represents Christians who receive, conserve and refuse to distribute. God is not looking for pipes. Without your distribution, the goodness of God in your life will not be know to unbelievers.

D.The tree can be likened to Christians who Saree wasters of divine abundance, and frustrate divine purpose, which is to enlarge his kingdom on earth by the prosperity of his people. The ministry of stingy christians is reducing the size of the kingdom. When christians don't show forth fruit of good works, darkness takes over.

E. The tree reflects a life that is full of itself, proud and empty of God. people come late to God's presence and behave anyhow. If you honor God, it will show in your behaviour. You will determine if God will bless you each time you are in his presence. Be humble before him. It proves that you know God.

Danger of fruitlessness

A. You play into the hands of the devil; you vacate your space for the devil. God is hungry in the life of many who are refusing to do so. They unknowingly renounce the blessing that should rest on them and their children: Gen:22:17. Your giving today will attract blessings to you, and multiply such blessings to your children.

B. You attract divine displeasure. God would not have been happy if abraham had held back isaac. When you refuse to give to God, it shows you doubt his ability to supply your needs.

C. You collaborate with the enemy go steal, kill and destroy. By your indifference, people remain in abject poverty. Christians shouldn't be stumbling blocks to other Christians. When you bless God with your substance, he gives you what money cannot buy: 2kings 4:8-17.
