Daily Psalms and Proverbs - Tues. July 11th

A good day to all reading this! Today's reading is Psalm 9:6-8 and Proverbs 4:10-13

Psalm 9:6-8

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

There is an end to wickedness, and the wicked eventually get destroyed and are remembered no more. The Lord, however, is eternal. When we put our trust in Jesus as our Savior, we don't have to worry about being destroyed with the wicked. We will live with Him forever. We also don't have to be discouraged by all the evil done on the earth, because in due time the Lord is going to settle every matter and bring perfect justice to mankind.

Proverbs 4:10-13

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life

God's Word often talks about the paths we take in life. We have to choose between good paths of depending on God and bad ones where we reject God and trust in ourselves and other people. On the bad paths, we find destruction that limits us and evil that trips us up, and the end of those paths are death and destruction. The good paths bring more peace and joy to our hearts the longer we travel them, and end in eternal life.
