Monday Bible Verse - Psalm 8:3-4 - Supermoon (Black and White)

in #christianity8 years ago (edited)

One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had, was when I was with a group of Christian photographers who got together for a conference in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

One night when the sky was completely void of clouds we all trudged up a mountainside where one of our group had set up an extremely powerful telescope so that we could look at the stars. What blew me away was that I when I looked through the telescope at what I thought was a single star, I saw multitudes of them! Who knew?

As we each took our turn to look out into the heavens, there was a sense of reverence and awe at the beauty of God's handiwork. We all had a mountaintop experience, that was truly on the mountaintop! We all started in unison to sing, How Great thou Art, and in the stillness of the night, you could swear that angels were singing! Certainly the presence of the Lord was in that place.

This image is one I photographed of the Supermoon on August 10, 2014. It was shot using my Canon EOS 5D Mark II and my EF100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM Canon lens at 300mm. Exposure was set manually at 1/400 sec using f/11 at ISO 1000.

Scripture is from the King James Version (KJV) which is in the Public Domain.

Thanks for your reply and Upvote! I so appreciate it. Blessings! We all tend to misuse the word awesome, myself included. God is truly the only one who deserves our awe.. He is the Master Creator! Our gifts are from Him!
