GOD SHALL SUPPLY YOUR NEEDS
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians.4:19
God is always concerned about what we need than what we want. Our needs are more necessary and more important than our wants and that's the more reason the scripture above talks about God supplying our needs and not our want.
Our needs are the necessities of our life; things that will make us complete and fulfilled in Christ Jesus. God knows everything we need and He has in abundance all the riches and the wealth to meet it.
The story about the two sisters clearly tells us that the Lord is more mindful and more concern about our needs than our wants.
Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”Luke 10:38-42NKJV
Martha had complained to Jesus Christ how her own sister had abandoned her and letting her to do the serving alone
But Jesus replied Martha:
you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away
Which means she needed something better than what she thought was good and that's the word of God. God knows what we need to become whole and that's what He's always concern about ........ For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Mathew. 6:32NKJV
Peter and John had gone to the temple to worship when a man born lame asked for alms. This man wanted alms but the apostles taught of his need first. They told him look at us...that which you want we have got none and we think our God can supply you with your need...you need healing not money.
Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. Acts 3:1-9NKJV
To this man it was all about money he wanted but God had a different plan for him and that is to give him what he really needed, to heal him permanently and stop him from begging anymore. If he can walk he will be able to work and l fend for himself than relying on alms. God thinks about our needs more than what we want and so He told Jeremiah:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
GOD WILL SURELY SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS
He shall wipe away our tears
It has been my experience too, that God has supplied what I needed, and not what I wanted. It wasn't easy to see that at the time. With a little introspection, I could understand that what seemed like suffering, was actually a blessing.
That's a very nice exprience helping you to trust God more. God is indeed very deep, some of the things He does at the beginning are very difficult to comprehend, this why we have to always trust Him and not understand Him in everything He does. Thank you @jamesallen
