It was so much fun playing with a school of freshwater fish in a small river somewhere in Sabah, Malaysia sometime ago during one of our travels. Interestingly, these fish would crowd around you only when you feed them with a scoopful of fishmeal. But once the feeds are gone, they would swim away from you.

This experience reminds me of the people who followed Jesus not because of His teachings but because they were expecting Him to feed them. Jesus then bluntly told them, "The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign" (John 6:26, NLT).

Let's follow our Master, Jesus, not for selfish reasons but because we love Him.
