Christ’s mountain moving faith

Devotion:

Read Matt. 17:14-21

"Faith the size of a mustard seed…" I felt the Lord brought my attention to the nature of a seed more that the problem of demonic oppression, sickness, and unbelief found in the text. A seed, no matter how small, is packed with the potential for life and fruitfulness, but must be sown. The Father brought clarity to me, we sow our trust moved by love into Christ’s mountain moving faith. "Speak to the mountain" with the voice of Christ, believe with Christ’s belief. Defy unbelief. “Nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

If internal or external mountains (hindrances fueled by unbelief) are stubborn, go to the Lord with fasting and prayer declaring the finished work of the cross and sonship. We need to learn to be unrelenting. Breakthrough is our inheritance!

Sort:

Your faith can only move mountains if God wants them moved. Faith isn't a blind feeling that God will do whatever we ask but it's putting our full trust and confidence in God regardless of what He chooses to do. This was shown by these men:

(Daniel 3:13-18 NIV) Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king, {14} and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? {15} Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?" {16} Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. {17} If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. {18} But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

God saved them so that not a hair on their heads was singed. Neither did their clothes smell like smoke.

True. The context of Matt. 17 is freedom for a child that was demonically oppressed and why the disciples couldn't cast out the devil. Christ clearly said "unbelief." Then he used the illustration of a mustard seed of faith, HIS FAITH TO MOVE MOUNTAINS which will always be His will. He will not oppose himself. God ALWAYS wants people free. "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing ALL that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." Acts 10:38
