Prescriptions for a Happy Life

Many of us are enjoying material blessings in our lives but we cannot deny the fact that many of us are not enjoying life. Yes, this is the truth. You can enjoy material things in life but you are living a troubled life. Christians are not exempted from living in misery when they live in disobedience to God.
The Bible has many do's and dont's for our good. And it's imperative for us to follow them for our blessedness. The word "blessedness" in the Bible means happiness.

Here are some ways to be happy in life.

****Strive on having a clear conscience.****

Psalms 37:21a
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:

Perhaps you have already experienced lending money to somebody but unfortunately, they have had "amnesia" and never remember to pay you.
This verse does not talk about money only. It pertains to all kinds of things you can lend to others or things you can borrow from others. This Bible verse teaches us to be responsible for giving back the things others rightfully owned.

****Be generous to a worthy cause.****

Psalm 37:21b
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

We live in a world full of deceit, where indolent people camouflage themselves in beggars' clothing to loot on unsuspecting benevolent fellows. This is when generosity is abused and willingness to help is suppressed.
We are then reminded to be aware of whom we extend our helping hands.
Helping those who are in need and are not able to repay you gives value to your worth. We should not give for honor and praise of men but simply a channel of blessing to others.

****Live in uprightness and integrity.****

Psalms 37:27
Depart from evil, and do good, and dwell forevermore.

Many people have built a cage where they imprisoned themselves. They cannot get out of their houses without their guns. They were worried and anxious about what would happen to them at any time because they know they were hunted by their own wickedness. Many have secluded themselves from others because of sin and lost their self-worth and living in depression.
Living in integrity gives you the freedom to walk around wherever you go. You're not going to hide but sociably mingle with other people that make your life happy.

****Speak with graciousness.****

Psalms 37:30
The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

The power of life and death is in our tongues. It's either you build a man or destroy him by the power of words. Slandering is fatal. Many lives had been lost because of fabricated stories. Lies that are told have destroyed homes and friendships. People who love stabbing others will someday the victim of their lying lips. Our mouths should be a fountain of words of wisdom that edify others. Our words should be a healing balm to a broken spirit and cold water to a dry heart that became calloused and numb to sympathy.

****Our wills should be subject to the word of God.****

Psalm 37:31
The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

I'm usually drawn to the musically talented people. Musicians who play heartily seems their hands and fingers have their own brains. Likewise, to a person who has God's law in his heart, he's inclined to do right automatically. When our wills are not bound by the precept of God's word, we might attain some success but have an empty heart and living an unfulfilled life.

****If we live righteously, we have a peaceful life. And peaceful living equals a happy life.****
