Disciples Creed
Sparse the covering that cannot hide;
the stain of sin remains inside
'till Father, Son and Spirit abide -
Adam will yet reign
Mortals speak that all is well,
But the tongue will the heart's true nature tell
devouring tempest set on fire of hell;
itself cannot contain
Men will reap what they have sown
the way of peace they have not known
'till the Shepherd makes them His own
the sheep will ever stray
Thought that makes the heart to leap
the Father will His promise keep
the Bride to awaken from her sleep;
her glory to be seen
Treasure within these vessels of clay
our pathway sure, we traverse the way
shining still brighter until the day
darkness to dispel
His disciples, we must count the cost
and burn the bridge that once we crossed
no more by wind of doctrine tossed;
hand firm upon the plow
Eyes now fixed on Calvary
the light by which now we see
we will now, and ever be
by Your Spirit led
Hastened by the coming hour
strengthened by all Heaven's power
lest Hell another sould devour -
Lord, draw all men to Thee
