THIS REALLY UPSETS ME
This past week, [Friday, May 5th], Tennessee state senator, Dr. Mark Green announced that he is withdrawing from consideration for appointment as Secretary of the Army. This is the sort of thing that totally disgusts and infuriates multitudes of conservatives, Christians, and other patriots. Dr. Green was immediately placed on the liberals, LGBT, and Islamic hit list upon his nomination by President Trump. As the slanderous and vicious attacks increased, the nominee decided that he was becoming a distraction from President Trump’s and Defense Secretary James Mattis’s effort to restore the standing and morale of our Armed Forces.
Dr. Green graduated from West Point and served as an infantry officer. After completing the course at the Army Ranger School, h did several tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan as a rifle and scout platoon leader. Following the completion of the Infantry Officer’s Advance Course, Green then served with the 82nd Airborne Division. After seeing his father’s life saved by a team of surgeons and critical care doctors, Green asked the Army to send him to medical school. After his training was completed, Dr. Green served as the Flight surgeon for a Special Operation Aviation Regiment.
Green retired from the military after twenty years of service. He had been awarded the Bronze star [with V device for bravery], CIB badge, the Air Assault Badge, Flight Surgeon’s badge, two Air Medals [for valor] and numerous other awards and service ribbons. As a civilian he served in private medical practice and operated several free medical clinics in Tennessee.
And why the fierce opposition to this genuine hero and distinguished physician? The reasons are quite simple, he believes that trans-gendered are NOT born that way, but rather are suffering a mental disorder. It has been noted that he strongly opposed laws allowing transgender individuals to use public bathrooms that did not match their birth gender. He also aggressively opposed the teaching of Muslim beliefs and practices in Tennessee public schools. Most egregious of all is his ardent Christianity and belief in biblical Creation and his rejection of the theory of evolution.
The fierce opposition of vile and evil politicians such as Church Schummer, Elizabeth Warren, and Nancy Pelossi is always expected. But also voicing his criticism and opposition to Mark Green is claimed conservative Arizona Senator John McCain. McCain called Green’s statements regarding gays and trans-gendered “troubling” and grounds for disqualification. So in a nutshell the opposition and criticism of Dr. Green was centered on what his personal beliefs are. They had nothing to do with his suitability and qualifications, and his temperament for this important job.
A final word. How many can remember when Barrack Obama’s in 2016 nominated Eric Fanning for Secretary of the Army? Fanning was an outspoken and openly gay activist. He had received an undergrad degree in political science and after graduation wiggled into several sweet political appointments within the various Military branches. Fanning was no more than a political hack who had never served a single day in the military. And what was “CONSERVATIVE” senator McCain’s admonition to several real conservatives’ concerns about Fanning’s qualifications for this critical post? McCain scolded them with “What we’re doing here is we’re telling a nominee, who is totally and eminently qualified for the job, that that person cannot fulfill those responsibilities and take on that very important leadership post because of an unrelated issue.” I wonder why the good senator could not give the same consideration to the more qualified Dr. Green? By the way Senator McCain is chairman of the Armed Services Committee. Me thinks it is past time that “John” resigns.
